About

The hedge fund sponsor, Willow Creek Capital Management is founded in 1994 and is based in Greenbrae, California. It is a private company that invests in the public equity markets of the United States, especially in stocks of small-cap and mid-cap companies. The company has a long/short equity strategy, using the “Jones Model” to protect the portfolio returns from the market’s volatility. Returns are not driven large, unhedged and/or leveraged long exposure, but rather are driven the “alpha” created from superior stock selection.

The investment strategies which are used by the firm are built upon decades of experience and deep fundamental analysis. Willow Creek Capital Management invests in undervalued companies. It’s main objective is to deliver long-term and low risk performance.

Willow Creek Capital Management has established a formal governing process and an efficient operational structure – utilizing “outsourcing” of all non-investment functions whenever possible --  to maximize efficiency. The company also benefits from the long-term relationships they have built with a number of reputable service providers that specialize in fund accounting and administration, securities laws and regulations, audit and tax, and technology.

Willow Creek Capital Management believes that over time this approach should deliver additive risk-adjusted performance as we strive to identify and invest in the great companies that have the potential to appreciate significantly and continue to find short opportunities where the companies are very likely to fail and cease to exist.
